1)I'm not saying sex should be purely within marraige (in a legal sense). But am not convinced that sex outside of a Mutually loving, commited, permanent relationship is anything but harmful (emotionally/physically/mentally/socially/spiritually).

2)Being 'In love' is nothing of the sort. Despite what the aforementioned romantic school of thought would tell you, this state is almost strictly a selfish, emotional, infatuation. See my previous analogy.

3)On the subject of sex removed from emotion, I'll say that it's highly unlikely in any case. No matter how selfish someone may be, they're not likely to be puerely after physical pleasure. I venture that it's mostly emotional poleasure/security/whatever that they're seeking. Otherwise they wouldn't bother with another person.

4)Virginity is not a prerquisite for a fulfilling 'marriage' relationship. However, it may cause problems if one or both of the partners retains the attitudes about sex which caused that state in the first place. Ideas like 'sex doesn't require commitment' and 'all that matters is pleasing myself'.

In conclusion, I'd like to look at this from the perspective of christian morality. In all honesty, the warnings and commandments against sex are not there because god, for some reason, doesn't like sex. I'm sure he's very happy with the way it worked out. Rather, they're there to prevent humans from making harmful mistakes. Sex must be confined to a specific kjind of relationship for much the same reason that eating should be confined to edible food and drinking to nontoxic xubstances. If you do otherwise, you're only going to hurt yourself.

A man who'se intelligience, creativity, and it I greatly admire, and whom I also consider to be a friend, recently went through what I believe is his third divorce. I found out about this when I emailed him asking if he'd be interested in a roleplay I was trying to get together, and recieved a response that began "i'm sorry, but my life is hell..." He went on to tell me that he was divorcing, and he ended by saying (somewhat wistfully) that he guessed he'd "never find a woman who worked out". In fact, it is this very attitude which likely caused his trouble. No matter how superficially similar or different two people may be, their relationship will fail without conscious dedication and commitment. Sex is only one of hte most visible aspects of that problem.

Wayfer, I was brought up to believe that u don't make out till after marriage. I must disagree for once. I mean no offence, it's what u think. Well, marriage and sex is two things that go together if the man and women really love each. I'm sure a lot girls agree on that.
