No, gloria is by Vivaldi. (at least the one I think you mean)

The answer is 'the Harmonious Blacksmith'

Sorry. I was away for a week. I think you need to ask a more specific question. Handel wrote so much music for harpsichord, and fame is such a relative concept. Most people only think he's famous for one big choral work, for instance, and I doubt anyone else would think any harpsichord piece was famous no matter who wrote it.

How about a question like this? Which symphony by Beethoven has a thunderstorm? Too easy? Maybe Hector should wait a day to give someone else a chance.

Pastoral? Symphony #6, I think.

I'm lousy with trivia, by the way, and only came up with this answer because I remember seeing Fantasia as a small child, -- the beginning of my love of classical (and romantic, baroque, modern) music.

So...in case I'm right here's my hopelessly easy question

Name the piece of music (and its composer) that provoked riots and protests when it was first produced in 1913.

Well, so much for easy questions. Maybe there's a middle ground of difficulty?

I will resist the temptation to go look up the actor at a movie database. I don't know the guy. So no point for me this time.

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found

I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

The dude's name was Wladyslaw Szpilman. He died in 2001, by the way.

And I knew all this! I didn't have to look in the encyclopedia! For once in my life....

One of the bestest of the best composers is P. D. Q. Bach, son of J.S. Bach! Anybody ever heard of him? Just to get of idea of his weirdness/craziness/coolness he lived from 1807-1742? (i'm serious, backwards!) and wrote things like "The Short-tempered Clavier: Preludes and Fugues in All the Major and Minor Keys Except for the Really Hard Ones" (S. 3.14159, easy as), an opera called "Oedipus Tex", "March of the cute little wood-sprites", and the Christmas carol "Good King Kong looked out". He also wrote the only tuba and violin concerto.

Note: everything is edited by Prof. Peter Schickele (hint, hint...)

P. D. Q. Bach

He is real in the sense that there is music written credited to P.D.Q. Bach--The music does exist, PDQ doesn't. He is a creation of Peter Schickele who does, in a sense, create parodies of famous music. In the short-tempered clavier, he has some themes based on 20th century tunes (such as chopsticks!). He also wrote some really weird stuff with a really weird organ-type thing that "explodes" at the end of the music. In this there is also a group of Senators playing some weird thing he invented like a pickle (the food...). Some of the performance notes to his pieces are really funny. He has some translated into five languages. The english makes sense, the german does, mostly, and French has nothing to do with the music, the hieroglyphics aren't real, and the pig latin is, well, pig latin. Did you get the "S. 3.14259, easy as", easy as pi?
