I've changed
I was reading the books again, and I don't think I even like them anymore. Maybe I've grown out of them.
In a way they are a little bit childish, aren't they? Surely I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Oh, the joys of having a husband who willingly pranks one at all hours of the day, in any way, shape or form.
He says, "Hey, at least I named a dog Huan!"

Many of us were pretty young when we joined the 'moot and well, sometimes one just does outgrow these things. Life goes on and there are always more and other books than LoTR.
I haven't come yet to the point where I find LoTR childish and I'm hoping I never do, but I'm sure you're not the only one who has fallen out of love with a book. |

No, indeed. I left myself logged into Entmoot and my husband decided to play a prank on me.
There may be a day when the zeal of Midge for LOTR fails,

Ha ha! Would have been funnier though if it had taken you longer than 8 minutes to notice and you were greeted with post after post of angry vitriol going on about what a terrible person you were when you logged back in.
Not that I had planned to do that myself... *hides branding irons behind back*

I first thought it was you playing a prank on us. I didn't think you were being serious.
Then I read the second post

People might expect a princess like me to play a prank but I would never -hides baby kitsune behind back then it leaps out of hand and leaps landing on midge-

You have no clue. And he's like 75% introverted so I'm the ONLY ONE who gets ALL of his cheek.

May you two have a long and happy marriage. And always remember: No one else (except your children, and then only when they've reached adulthood) will understand what's going on.

I have started to figure out something quite funny. I never wanted to say anything about some of his antics, because I know there are some people who won't understand them and take them the wrong way. But from little hints from other wives, apparently the idea of a marriage where the husband doesn't pull ornery pranks and jokes on his wife is rather a fictional idea.
It makes me laugh to think all us wives are suffering in silence, alone in a sea of other wives with ornery husbands.

1. I have no clue what a kitsune is, and
2. Most animals and children are not threatened by me. They know instinctively I'm not good for eating, though. In case that's what a kitsune does.

I was picturing a real-life animal with anime-looking features - possibly a kite-shaped kitten that has the personality of a tsunami?

Technically a kitsune is a fox-creature from Japanese folklore and mythology. It is a fox that can change its shape to human and can have a number of tails depending on its power and strength. Mostly considered tricksters as far as I have encountered them but I do think they take up other roles like guardian or messenger.
Aside from that, I think this thread has run its course. For further conversation, I'd like to refer people to our Teacup Cafe. Closing. |
