Strongest Individual
Who is the strongest hero throughout the ages? Fingolfin, Ecthellion, Glordindel, Gil-Gilad, Hurin, Turin, Elendil, Helm Hammerhand, Aragorn, Beorn, Earnur, or Boromir?
I would go with Helm Hammerhand. He was huge and compared to a Snow Troll, and stalked into enemy camps and killed with his bare hands. He killed a Dunelinding chieftan with one punch. |

Easily Tulkas the strong. But I'm cheating by choosing a Valar... You are clearly referring to the Children of Iluvatar. Treebeard would also be very strong but still not in line with your question.
That said, I believe that elves are physically stronger than men (in my mind anyway).
I would say Fingolfin is the physically strongest of the Children of Iluvatar.

That's a pretty good argument.

I believe Wilhelm is right in that it would have to be Fingolfin (he did in fact stood up to Morgoth in physical combat)
But whereas this certainly proves Fingolfin was (one of?) the bravest of the children of Iluvatar, it doesn´t make him the strongest. What if some other of the elven lords of old had had the chance to fight Morgoth physically (or had dared)? The fact that Fingolfin did so doesn´t mean he is the strongest. But if not (only) for strengh, I will also say Fingolfin for his courage : ) Last edited by Telcontar87 : 09-15-2011 at 02:56 PM. |

My vote is for Fingolfin, too.

"Madness of the brave"... He had the guts to stand up the Vala, against whom he had no chance to win.
Which says that coherent thinking was not his strongest point.
