Calvin & Hobbes... thought maybe this thread belongs in 'Entertainment', I'll leave it here for a little longer.

Word. Calvin & Hobbes is the best comic ever made imo. Those two are my favourites any day

I agree, it should probably go in Entertainment after a day or two .
I looooooooooove Foxtrot. I'm sad that it's only on weekends now, but it's okay. I have a bunch of the old book collections. |

Maybe it's a guy thing. Coincidentally, I'm just rediscovering it. I read the strip as it came out ~20 years ago, and I own 5 of the books. I just pulled them out to show to my boys a few days ago, figuring they'd probably appreciate them (at least one of them has a LOT of similarities). Sure enough, they love them. I thought I had the one that included the attack of the snowmen - which was just SO hilarious. But that wasn't in any of them, so I ordered a copy. Might come today...

I like both Foxtrot and Calvin and Hobbes. Foxtrot used to be in our newspaper, but it's not anymore. I like Zits too. I found the FUNNIEST comic last week.
Zits Funny Comic

Calvin and Hobbes is great. Also Get Fuzzy.
Non Sequitur used to be great, back in the day, but it's gone way downhill.

Yes - while in college I was working in a book store in Gary Larsen's early years. He came in for a signing but I had to miss it because of a class. I bought three of his books and left them to be autographed - which he did for me.

Favorite cartoon? Futurama. I don't think any other show has made me laugh quite so much.

If you allow more than one: Peanuts (with Snoopy as my favorite Peanut) - and Far Side - and Calvin and Hobbes - to name but a few ...
There are a couple of Far Side ones that are my favorites, I think. One about the true reason why the dinosaurs became extinct - showing them as schoolboys secretly smoking, complete with the guilty and defiant facial expression. Brilliant. And another with a frog performing in a dark cafe, singing about how sad his life is, and how he's "got the greeeeeens - got the greens real baaad" ...

For the short type comics (i.e. not graphic novel) I mostly read online ones. I like XKCD (though I think it's steadily losing its magic) and Dinosaur Comics. And A Softer World!!
I also like Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, Peanuts, Garfield. Animated, I'm mostly into Japanese anime that I wouldn't call "cartoons" except maybe Doraemon or Sazae-san. Or Chibi Maruko-chan. I like South Park and I miss the Golden Age of Nickelodeon. |

Ah... the golden age of Nickelodeon. They lost all their sparkle when they quit showing reruns of Hey Arnold!

I remember my first episode of Hey Arnold. They played it during the previews of a movie i went to see. I think it was right before they started showing it on TV. I can't remember what movie it was though.
