Considering you are quite human GD, you had no choice.

We don't need elves to make this a better world. There is nothing stopping us from doing it ourselves. No Morgoth or Sauron nowadays...

Man, this concept of elves returning to earth in the modern age would make for one hell of a fanfic.
Picture this, in the year 2007 AD, the immortal lands are in crisis. The immortality of the elves, coupled with their continued desire to reproduce have caused the Blessed realm to become overpopulated. The sheer number of elves has grown to such a vast size that one cannot look venture anywhere and be alone. As a result, the once beautiful landscape has grown sad and for some, unbearable. The elves, having truly had enough, beg the Valar for the right to leave. The Valar angrily rufuse their request at first, but after they see that they can no longer keep the children of Iluvatar happy, they reluctantly accept. Thus a new straight road is constructed. This one leading from the eastern shore of Tol Erassea to modern day Whales. At first, elven messengers are sent. The people of England are understandably befuddled by the strange looking, yet etherial people and their message of the comming of the elves. Afterall, to them elves are the stuff of myth and legend. Nonetheless, more show up. The eventually migrate beyond england and to the surrounding regions, struggling to adapt to their new home. In some places, they are welcomed with open arms, in some they are looked upon as monsters. The coming of the elves sparks international media attention as more of these "Immortal Immigrants" continue to show up. I don't know. Just a little idea I came up with after reading this thread and an another older one about the overpopulation of Valinor. By the way, did I mention this is my first post? Hello everyone |

Greetings
Great question!! I would have never left my home. The world around me depresses me sometimes and I wish I could go away to a distant land and escape it all. If the elves were real, I would probably try to find them or die trying.
