Polls
Why are there never any polls created here? I am under the impression that it is definitely able to be done, to create a poll upon which members may vote. Perhaps only moderators have the ability to construct a votable poll? If not, and/or if so, could someone please, let us citizen members know one way or the other.
It occurs to me that this board is quite capapble of creating polls, simple votable polls. Every single other board I am a member of has poll capability; why does Entmoot not use this feature? Especially with all this endless hoopla about "Presidential elections," what kind of election has any merit without the ability to vote upon said "election," by using a real poll? Just wondering. Things that make one go "Hmmm..."

Do a search on threads with "Polls" in their title

O.K., I just did that like you recommended, but not one poll showed up. Am I missing something? A poll is where a reistered member can click a choice of options to vote on a thing, any thing - usually the poll will have a minimum of 4 choices, where the member can pick one and click on it, thus lodging their vote on said poll. I see no polls here. Can you point me out to one specific poll, even from the past, even if it's an old, closed poll? I'd just like to view it, if such a thing exists around here.

Oh, I meant that when you search on "Polls" several thread just like this one shows up, where people ask how to create polls and stuff and where the mods have already answered why polls are not allowed.
There have been admin-created polls on this board but I can't remember in which threads they were. But they exist out there. Edit: Ah, here's a Rate ROTK poll

Wow! You found one, Jonathan; so there it is - Dating way back to december of '03, by Greg the admin from way back then... Cool, thanks for finding that, baby! Now - my question is, how come we can't make polls around here nowadays? And who has the ability, the "power" to make polls - only admins, or only admins & mods, or - OR, can every member create a poll if he or she wants to, and if so, how? questions, questions...

Members can't do polls, only mods and admins can. There have been some by now even if you haven't seen them, but they're rare. The last poll was one of Spock's in GM a few months ago. It got deleted apparently, but I've just restored it.

We went through this before, an the official word was no.
see here It was decided that it would waste my time (which is kind of ironic when you think about the idea of forums in the first place ), and Ben's space (which is certainly his to apportion, though I'd say we give it the C.S. Lewis forum space ).
