Left, Right, Middle Pundits

First of all I want to say that Radio is something I just don't like to listen to.
But, I must confess, I'm a Bill O'Reilly listener.

I disagree with him sometimes, even a lot, be it his conclusions, or how he came to certain conclusions. He may even be erring when it comes to being critical/uncritical of things such as polls.

But I listen to him because he, unlike other talk show hosts, actually seems to want figure out solutions.

Even though he gets "Reillied" (riled) up, he never resorts to insulting even (ok, except maybe George Soros) the lefties personally.

So before you guys leap at my throat for listening to him, I'd like to know who anyone else listens to, if at all...well, actually, you can list your source for news too.

btw, I also listen to NPR...

I sometimes watch The O'Reilly Factor just to see if he has any new controversal views to reveal. I don't like the man. FOX news is so slanted and The O'Reilly Factor contributes more than anything to FOX's mockery of journalism.

That's what makes O'Reilly entertaining though

The only thing I can say is that I have seen a few people walk all over him, Angela Davis comes to mind, and he can acknowledge defeat.

Of course NPR News... They actually don't seem to be as biased when it comes to actual news reporting, though they're just as bad as any liberal media when it comes time to do interviews etc...

Terri Gross especially. I mean really, the gal laughed in complete comraderie with every evolutionist, left-wing cartoonist (that was especially disgusting) that they ever invited. Of course, she's free to believe and agree with whatever she feels, but the professsionalism really breaks down when it shows so blatantly.

Really? I think most other media is so left-wing that FOX seems like a super-conservative show, even though they arent particularly conservative or liberal...

but he also gets accused of stuff he definitely doesn't do. For instance, Leonard Pitts accused him of endorsing Anne Coulter's comments about the Jersey Widows when actually criticised her for it. Shows you how much Mr. Pitts knows...
He also grouped him with Michael Savage, which is incredibly ridiculous. Michael Savage is a weirdo, despite some occasional things he has said, which I could say better IMO. O'Reilly is far from the Savage crowd.

Actually, O'Reilly do remind me a little of Savage . Though you're right that Savage is a weirdo and O'Reilly is not.

I think Jon Stewart (politically liberal) is completely hilarious. Did anyone watch the "type o dong" episode last night?

Where are the hilarious right-wing guys though? We need to balance the funny.

coaw-ber? Conservative? My foot!

But O'Reilly can be pretty funny sometimes

..."If you don't like peanuts, you're evil!"

That was O'Reilly getting mad about Jimmy Carter's view on life

I like political cartoons more than pundits. My favorite is Doonesbury, but Non Sequitor has become my number two. If I do listen to a pundit, it's pretty rare. Once in a while I put on Air America. But frankly I think there's too much finger-pointing going on on both sides.

edit: I guess the reason I don't like pundits is that there isn't one who says what I believe. I just find myself arguing with all of them. Maybe it's because I'm just contrary. But what I believe is closer to President Carter than to anyone else. And I feel like he's being ignored. His recommendations for putting the Democratic Party back on track are good ideas. Basically, there's no place for the Christian Liberal in America anymore, much less a Bahá’*, which is almost what I am. So I'm not represented. I think pundits are paid by the number of people who tune them in, not by the number who agree. And somehow I don't see someone saying turn the other cheek and love your enemy as upsetting enough listeners to make the phone lines light up.

The problem with all these guys is that they need extremists of either side- get anyone calling in with a moderate, reasonable approach and see how quickly they get cut off- because it makes for boring radio.

Nurvingiel - you watch The Daily Show but don't know of The Colbert Report?! Blasphemy.

Stephen Colbert is the closest thing to a Conservative comedian :P

Thats certainly true with most radio pundits, but if you've ever heard O'Reilly for real, you'd know he's not just a mick-macker.

I like Diane Rehms ( http://www.wamu.org/programs/dr/ ) because she doesn't try to spew hate...imo....the world is better off without polarizing media schtick on important issues.

Shes a local treasure. And always civil. A breath of fresh air in the hot house that is news casting.

I've never heard of her before.

But I am upset that my local station, who carries O'Reilly live, doesn't replay him at 10:00 pm, which is when I have time to listen. Instead? They replay Miachael Savage, who is simply unlistenable...
