Oh sorry. That was just a lapse in my reading comprehension skills.

BJ said, "Aristotle seemed to realize the relative nature of human perception and that our musings on reality are just that." I thought he meant that Aristotle thought of reality as relative to our own take on it. You'd know better than me what he actually thought.

Aristotle aside, I'm pretty sure there are many people who preach that reality only exists in the mind--that reality is exactly what we percieve as reality, and anything we don't percieve is false, because, who can say otherwise?

But that just screams "devil's advocate" so obnoxiously I hate it. I find it hard to believe that anyone genuinely believes this philosophy.

No, reality is not relative to our perception of it.

I could be mistaken, but I think that BJ merely meant that in opposition to the starkly uncompromising Forms of Plato's view. Am I right, BJ?
