Mithrillica
What if...there was a heavy metal/hardcore band with only LOTR characters? Who would be in it?

Mithrillica! I love it. Awesome thread Curubethion.
It depends what kind of metal they play. If it's thrash metal, I could definitely see the Witch-King as the lead singer. However, I think Tolkien's world would inspire power metal, just as it already has in bands like Blind Guardian. For such a band we would need a lead singer with a tuneful but powerful voice, but someone who still has enough "edge" for metal. For this role, I nominate Aragorn, who would also be a clever lyricist. On drums, I think the dexterous Gimli, with Legolas on lead guitar, and Faramir on bass. If we wanted a second guitarist, I think Galadriel would be cool. All these individuals demonstrate musical skill at various points in LotR IIRC. What do you think guys? EDIT: Cross-posted with Curubethion, since I took hours. I agree, Gimli definitely has to be in the band. Maybe we should get another Dwarf in there - they are just so metal. Maybe Thorin Oakenshield? Having a keyboard makes me think of Sonata Arctica - a super cool metal band.

Only problem with Thorin is that he'd be a wraith or something like that...you could always use the King Under the Mountain...who was that at the end of LOTR?

Yeah, I guess we can't just pretend certain characters are alive here.

This should be discussed in the Teacup Cafe and not in a separate thread.

Congrats! Welcome to the Elf Lord club, now officially renamed the Red Sox Lovers club... (okay okay I'll stop)
So...does anyone want to work on a Mithrillica logo? I think we have: Aragorn-Lead vocals Pippin-Bridge vocals (you know, that wailing voice that's not the lead) Legolas-Lead guitar Faramir-Bass Gimli-Rhythm guitar (I just thought of this) Troll/Gimli-Drums Correct? Any changes? (We oughta schedule a show soon... anyone want to write songs? )

How about female vocalist as well? I always thought metal sounded cool really heavy with a really pretty female voice in the background. You know like sort of enchanting and really high notes. Like maybe Galadriel I guess.
