Garth Nix
Please tell me I am not the only one on this board that has discovered Garth Nix and the Abhorsen books...
All right, all right, I suppose I'll try to start a discussion on them. I personally got sucked into them right away when I read the first one, Sabriel. The style it's written is is very slightly reminscent to LOTR, because the world that the story takes place in feels like ti has a deeper history to it than is touched in the books.

There's a few threads around, I think. I vaguely remember posting in them. ...
Aha, here it is: http://entmoot.com/showthread.php?s=...hlight=sabriel edit: that's quite oldish though. Hmm, I must've posted in a general fantasy thread about the series.

all I've ever been able to find is Sabriel, are there more in the same series? if so what are they called? and are they as good?

I read the Abhorsen series (Sabriel, Lirael, and Abhorsen) a year ago, and found it fascinating and very readable. I especially like the characters Lirael and Nicholas (and I wish there was another book about them getting together). I was a little weirded out by the fantasy though. There's just a little too much Death in these books!
