True - in War of the Worlds aliens come and kill people with heat rays. Makes all the difference!
I really wish someone would make an authentic film of that book. Would have a fantastic retro look and would be so different to see Victorian weaponry pitted against interplanetary invaders.

I read The Invisible Man which was good, but I know he can do better than that, so I'm going to read the Time Machine and War of the Worlds.

I enjoyed the 1960 version of the Time Machine with Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux. The movie is different from the book (where have I heard that before ? ) but is still enjoyable.

Of all the movie adaptations of H.G. Wells, my favorite one is "First Men In The Moon"! Extremely well done for its time!
