Robin Hobb
Hey, does anybody like her books? I have just finished assassins apprentice and thought it was really good. What do you think of her books?
I do not think they are as epic as tolkiens books, but still quite good.

Robin Hobb
I got Assassins Apprentice at a used book store, and I started it qafter finishing the 9-book Black Company series. I'm about halfway through it, and its been interesting, if not inspiring. I have to say I am not driven to pick oup the book to read like I was reading Tolkien the first time, or the first few Black Company books, but I'm enjoying it.
I will have to locate the Royal Assassin, and Assissin's Quest now.

Robin Hobb's on my to-read list.
I intend to read the 9 books [So far released by her under the current pseudonym] in one go and can't manage the time. For many people across the fantasy world, Fitz is one of the greatest characters ever. Am waiting impatiently to discover the truth for myself. On a sidenote, I am hoping to start Book I of Glen Cook's 'Black Company' in near future. I have some expectations from it, since It is generally well-liked [Among folks I know], but we'll see how it fares up with me.

"To late to apologize, I already forgave you." - Fitz
I've just finished Assassin's Apprentice myself, and I must agree it is a book worthy of mentioning. Although it was very tame in the beginning (and written in first person), suddenly I was sucked into the story and into Fitz when his apprenticeship started, and from there and out the book caught a good and tight hold of me that would never let go. If you are looking for a book to read, and have read Salvatore's work. Then give this book a try, and do not give it up till you've passed the first 100 pages, I'm glad I didn't

I have read her Farseer-triology (which I found myself liking very much, though the third book wasn't as good as the two previous) and also started her Liveship Trader-triology a few weeks ago, but had a busy week and was too tired to do any reading...

If I had it I would. Have The Sworn Sword, but I'd like to read The Hedge Knight first...I had to deliver Ship of Magic back to the library so I can't continue anyway.

I have read the Farseer books and the Liveship Trader books a few years ago. I enjoyed both series, however, I particularly enjoyed the Liveship Traders books - the Farseer books were a little cruel at times.

I just finished Royal Assassin, and that book was very good imo. Every chapter ended at a climax that was so thrilling I couldn't close the book. Stole a lot of my sleep this last week :P
It is pretty cruel at times, that it is. But I find it fitting to the setting Hobb created. It is much more realistic than a lot of other fantasy books I've read...
