Some people believe that Merry and Pippin will be the comedy sidekicks in the movies, instead of their proper role.

comedy sidekicks? what ever would they do when merry and pippin are seperated in RotK? Nothing terribly comedic about that. I think they can only be funny when they're together though. I think i'll reread the books again and pay more attention to the duo. I didn't gve them enoug last time.

Merry's certainly the better at adventures but I agree that I'd rather have a drink with Pippin, maybe Fatty Bolger would be a good adventurer? Nah....
