Mulitple log ons to avoid posting restrictions and rejection of site authority are the most common cause of perma-bans and IP blocks of real members (this exclude spam-bots and other registrations made only to advertise) at a games forum I moderate, followed by unrehabilitable flaming or trolling, and then by posting pornagraphy. Its a much rougher and wilder forum that this gentile one. It is often hard, both for moderators (particualarly an old lawyer like me) and members, to keep in mind that a moderators objective is order, not justice, which only a tool subordinate to order in forum operation.

Creating the Buster account was not meant to defy SGH, nor disrespect the staff of Entmoot. I was posting on the day that my ban was supposed to be lifted (per SGH's e-mail). (I'd say more, but my chances of keeping this thread from being deleted might be better if I don't.)

This was my only alternative to making people understand my permanent ban. I'm sure SGH will be fuming about me violating the permanent ban and claim, again, that I am posting to defy her ban. This is not the case at all, but I hope that she will understand that I needed to clarify the situation. There are no ill intentions in this post. I do not intent to circumvent her authority or anything else she's going to e-mail me in caps.

It has been nice posting with the vast majority of you. I hope to see you all on another message board. I hope you all receive better treatment here than me.

Ruinel, I'll miss a lot you in the moot, even though your ideas are very different from mine and I nearly never had agreed with you in anything (at least at GM, least of all that idea of making me strip in your Club )

And once again, I think you're wrong for putting the blame on SGH. You have admitted that you broke the rules of the banning. Although you may have done it with "good intentions" to clarify things it's a breaking of banning and that may easily understood as defiance to the admins.

Besides, before a decission of banning the staff deliberates the problem, so I'm sure this is not SGH's decission. We have a good team of capital fellows in the staff, and if they have decided to ban you I'm sure it is because your behaviour have made you worth of it.

Said that, I want to repeat that I'm gonna miss you. Fare you well.

this is unfortunate. Not that harsh of a punishment imo, after making two accounts after being banned to get around it when all she had to do was wait a little bit.

Actually, there have been many permanent bans in the history of entmoot (this vb and the ezboard). I looked at the ban log just now and there are a whole bunch of ppl on permanent bans (mostly spammers, but a handful of users with a good number of posts - blackboar, legolas_bowking, etc). At the old ezboard many permanent bans too.

I had nothing to do with this ban at all since I rarely come here - but I saw this topic and wanted to comment .

Indeed I was, and, now having served my time, I return to the Moot, to carry on fighting the good fight, (though with a degree less flame )

No point in fighting the Admins and mods, especially when you are wrong. Because, kids, when I got my weekend ban, Ruinel and I were flaming like crazy. If your hard done by, argue to high heaven, but if your guilty, take your ban and be content.

I dont always agree with SGH when she posts in the threads of debate, and I argue with her. But with Mod decisions, like banning and such, I defer to the Moderator, who is just trying to keep the peace. Its the only way it can work.

Now, perhaps I should go off to find JD, so he and I can lock horns again, its been a little while...

No I didn't. First, they shouldn't have been posted. That shows me a total motivation to cause the situation to escalate. Also, the entire text was not there. I love how everyone seems to ignore that she is posting inspite of a ban, but that's okay I guess.

SGH did not delete the emails posted in the Ano account... I did. I saw them and made a snap decision that these shouldn't be aired like this... certainly not in a moment of passion. I'm hoping for a long-term peaceful resolution... and felt that bringing everything into the open would likely only incite more fighting.

I am sorry Ruinel. I hope that doesn't make you feel betrayed or anything. As I told you before, I like you - and I DO hope for some eventual restoration and reconciliation around here. I just didn't think that was going to happen by those emails being posted for all to see... it didn't seem it would do anyone any good.

Gee Artanis, if she can't post under her ban, you will post for her. Nice to know she has friends willing to help her in her defiance. If I were you, I'd find out the facts before I post for her, instead of taking her word as fact. It really makes you look bad, I would think.
