Humans suck!

Alright Tolkein created a world with dwarves , wizards , dragons, orcs, and men.

But what advantage did men have? They are not the first born.
-wizards are smarter
-basically everything lives longer than them
-elves are stronger, more beautiful
-the valar like the elves and dwarves more, melkor likes his orcs
-dwarves are greater at craft and building
-so are elves
-elves are greater in battle

So basically all man has going for him is he breeds alot, and even orcs are better than that! At least our wives dont have beards! (suck it dwarf!)

Haha

please comment

I think it is Tolkiens way of explaining why mankind is the "dominating" species of todays age!

Notice I did not say the most intelligent!

You are forgetting the Gift of Men. Which is probally a lot better that than being strong, beautiful and skilled in craft.

Also Dwarves may have thought Dwarf-Women beards were beautiful and Sexy

I think Tolkien was showing how these plain humans were taking over middle earth, running out so to say, the Elves, dwarves and other fantasy things. I think it was an allusion to the overtaking of the industrial age on the pristine British countryside in his time. As he said I believe, he came to visit his small village where he grew up, which inspired The Shire, with his son much later in his life and saw it overtaken by factories and the like. I think this influenced his chapter "The Scouring of The Shire" in the Return.

Actually he denied in his Foreward to the Second Edition any connexion between happenings in England and the Scouring of the Shire. Or maybe he said only that it was not an allegory ...

The gift of men, or curse of men as some called it, is death. After death their Spirits go beyond Arda and Eä to a place where only Eru knows. What is special about it, is that only men can go there and Elves cannot, for they are bound to Arda.

Does anybody know what to the Elves after the Final battle, when Arda will be made anew.

What about Beorn (spelling). He could change into a bear a throw pitiful elves around like ragdolls (joking). As far as i know only some Ainur (spelling agian) could do that.
