Brookside...gone!
Well I don't much like any soap but was sort of sad to see the end of Brookside this week. It was brave in its time and any programme that launched Sue Johnson, Anna Friel and - er - wotsisname in The Royle Family can't have been all bad. And who can forget that first ever lesbian kiss on prime time British TV? Well, not me for a start...!
And it ended as it should have done too, the tormented Jimmy off to find happiness in the idyllic North East, Damon's killers (was that really 15 years ago?) knocked-off by Barry and the local drug baron swinging in the wind by his neck. As of this week, they don't make 'em like that any more!

Still the sea, Consolingly disastrous, will return While the strange starfish, hugely magnified, Waits in the jewelled basin of a pool. |
