Diane Duane

I love Diane Duane's "So You Want To Be A Wizard" books. They're so cool! For those who don't know, they're about Nita and Kit, two young wizards who, while becoming attracted to each other, try and get themselves out of serious scrapes. They meet strange people and tangle with the Lone Power. Don't want to ruin the plot, though. Does anybody else read these (between, of course, the multiple LOTR readings )?

It's been demonstrated to them over an over that serfdom is an archaic, inefficent institution, but they maintain it anyway--largely at the connivance of the serfs thmselves. Astellian nobles don't exert themselves in any way, so they have no concept of human endurance. The serfs take advantage of that outrageously. Astellian serfs have been known to collapse from sheer exhauston at the very mention of such unpleasant words as 'reaping' or 'digging'."

i had to read "so you want to be a wizard?" in school a few years ago. then my dad bought the five books including that one in a collected volume for me. when i first read it i didn't like it but then i got into them. there's six books up to now right? i've read six at least. my favorite was "a wizard abroad."
