Delorean 10. Lotus Elite Boats & Ships: 1. Any Volvo Ocean Race 12 2. The Norwegian Full-rigger "Christian Radic" 3. Any cruising yachts. 4. Any motor yachts. 5. The German Battleship "Bismark" 6. The German Battlecruiser "Prince Eugen" 7. USS Nimitz 8. USS Long Beach 9. HMS Invincible 10. RMS Queen Elizabeth II Airplanes: 1. The Swedish SK-60 mil jet aircraft 2. F - 16 Falcon 3. 11. who cares????????????????????????????????????????????? ??????????????????? car is a car. Unless it looks really old or falling apart, i could care less what car someone drives me in as long as it looks nice , new, and has nice features . My dad drives a bmw and my mom drives an outback. Thats all i'd look for in a car when i get my license : looks cool, nice features/gadgets, roomy, comfy.
otherwise i dont really see this obsession with cars most guys have..... I don't know the names of all or most cars - not even all brands (but most) - i just dont care. Can anyone tell me what the appeal is? edit: oh and for airplanes...umm i cant believe that you left out the coolest airplane in the history of aviation EVER. The Stealth Bomber. Oh come on now that thing is just reeking with coolness.

The appeal? Well, to me at least it is the dynamics and aesthetics.
Compare two cars such as a Toyota Supra TT and a VW Beetle (new shape). To me, the Supra is more aesthetically pleasing than the Beetle. Actually, the Beetle isn't really aesthetically pleasing to me at all.....nevermind. So, when I look at the Supra, I feel good. I appreciate the lines, and the overall design of it. I don't feel the same way when looking at the Beetle. And when it comes to dynamics, I derive much pleasure out of driving the car. The Beetle will not allow me to feel the acceleration afforded by the Supra (i.e. 0-100km/h in 5.0sec), nor will it allow me to feel the lateral acceleration (0.98g), nor the prodigious braking, nor the handling characteristics. When I drive the Supra, I have a smile on my face. When I get out of the car, my hands are shaking, and when I wake up in the morning, I look out my window at the car, and smile. These things don't happen with the Beetle. |

Not that bothered about cars. Would love a Lotus 7 or Aston Martin DB5 though. Planes...in no order... Concorde for being beautiful Saab Draken for looking very cool B-2 for being unfeasibly flat Mig-29 for being aerodynamically superb Any Sukhoi Flanker variant for being just SO impressive Harrier - any Harrier but especially the Royal Navy's FSR variant An-124 for being so big A-10 Thunderbolt for having ridiculous amounts of firepower AC-130 Hercules - same reason F-16 for being so manoeuvrable Supermarine Spitfire for being the best looking and best sounding fighter ever. Lockheed Blackbird for being so fast and more importantly LOOKING so fast

I have a red TransAm. I had always wanted a TransAm and used to draw them when I was younger. Here are some of my other dream cars -
Lamborghini Diablo (I wonder why? ) Dodge Viper Jaguar Vanden Plas 1939 Mercedes Benz Rolls Royce

Awww JD, now why'd you have to go and say that! Trans Am (and any sports car) is a total turn off. I really think Cameros are ick! I'm in agreement with Hobbit, just give me a car that looks new, runs good and is comfortable. The ugliest car (in my opinion) has to be the "El Camino", The truck car! I don't know brands either, I have the same problem with guitars, which irritates my husband! Any guy who mentioned his car (corvettes, yuck!) was immediately OFF the list. I drive a lovely new Camry. Comfy!

JD... You have great taste in cars! I'm really not a "sports dude" or a "Car dude" but those are some VERY awsome cars!
So have you ever managed to make the first payment on that thing? :P |
