Hitch-hiking round Ireland with a fridge...
This is a bit of a long shot but has anyone read Hitch-hiking round Ireland with a fridge by Tony Hawks?
Its quite a rare book i suppose but someone out there must have read it! It's about this man called Tony Hawks who was betted to hitch-hike around ireland with a fridge. and he did, and its basically a story written by him abut his travels. its all completely true and absolutely hilarious! as in "laugh out loud so hard that people think you may be in actual pain" kind of funny. So i'd definetly recommend it. am i the only one who's read it though?

It's title betrays itself.

The title sounds kind of dumb, so not many people are gonna want to read it probably. I believe that it's good, but the title is just plain wierd. Sorry ifI've insulted you.

you haven't offended me. i found the title to be quite appropriate actually.simple yet effective.
so does this mean you've actually read the book? you mean i'm not the only one? have you read Playing the Maldovans at Tennis as well?

No I haven't read the either of those, but I may check them out. Are they appropriate though?

appropriate meaning the content?as in language and things? there's a bit of bad language and one brief mention of a sexual incounter but apart from that its fine.
i would definetly recommend them though.

I must be thinking of something else. Tony Hawks is funny though - I've heard him on the radio a few times.

I've heard of the book, but I never read it. I think it came up in conversation when my dad was telling hitch-hiking stories about Newfoundland. Or no, maybe it was in that book... *runs to check shelfs* The Boat that Wouldn't Float, Farley Mowatt (that's a really funny book, too, but now I'm getting off topic... ). From what I've heard, it sounds like a good book.
