If you had the one ring
The one ring will eventually corrupt anyone who wielded it.
How would your corruption manifest. Fame, power, wealth, imposing your dogma's upon the world, eradicating certain groups, What would PROBABLY your DARKEST manifestion of corruption?

I'm really trying to think of a corrupted version of myself.
In ME I would let the 3 Elven rings do their thing because I like Elves and would want them to stay. I'd rebuild the realm's in exile. My paramours would all be Elven women My dark side would manifest if I got angry. I would crush those would would annoy me. I would FORCE education and health on my subjects. I'd let the Elves and Dunadain be the burecracy. I would just have the final say so. I don't wanna be a Ruler per se. confinded to a throne. I would work for efficiency. Maybe it would be like Nazi Germany is SOME ways. But I'd not wanna expand my borders, but i guess the ring would make me want to do that.

What I'd do with the ring
Aside from destroying both Inoldoril and Wayfarer (and have great fun in choosing who would go first), probably the desire to do good would be my downfall. Though specifically, I don't know how that would manifest. Being a person of spiritual faith, I suppose I'd try and impose my beliefs upon others because that would (of course!) lead to elightened peace and salvation of the world
That's a tough one: power and material wealth (when made readily available as the ring would make it) are very addicting even to those who claim to have no need of either. I reckon what we think we would do and we would actually do could end up being very different. Throwing it in Mt. Doom is just so much easier.

Heck if I know what the Ring would do to me. It's evil, and evil is very often unpredictable. Most likely I'd end up some twisted version of Sauron when the Ring was done with me.

I guess you'll just have to get your own pond, lee.
I would likely do a sauron type thing. I'd crush the wills of everybody a round me until they were nothing but my pawns... Aww, who am I kidding? *Gollum!*

In my high school days, I would have spent lots of time in the girls locker room (a la Legolas_BowKing), but now, I would sneak in to movie theaters to watch the three LOtR movies for free, as many times as I felt like seeing them. Maybe if there were people in the theater who were obnoxious or nasty, I would sneak up and whisper scary things in their ears, during the Nazgul scenes, or the Moria battle. At the moment Bilbo does his "Large Marge" (I STILL get a big kick out of that) impersonation, I could pick someone I didn't like and yell BOO!!!, right in their face.

I would take control of Entmoot . . . bring back The Most Annoying Thread Contest . . . reduce the world population by about half because people are annoying . . . out law cold and mosquitoes . . . allow Nature to take over and basically end all human civilization . . . live in a dark fortress with many lovers . . .

I'd elevate all Tolkien facts to high position, and force any NON Lord of the Rings fans to be stuck in a full LOTR bookstore for a year each. I would make the world a single continent so all Entmoot people could see each other whenever they wanted.
Umm...umm... but really, I'm too good to be corrupted by the ring, anyway.

In my case, if I were that lucky/unlucky, I'd wait for Gandalf to fall asleep, put it on his finger and wait to see what happens. That'll teach him to be a backseat ringbearer.<chuckles> I can't do that to Galadriel because she'll be heavily guarded, can probably sense me, and probably won't be asleep. I don't think I can probably do much wearing it. Sauron will see me and hunt me down like the hobbits. But then again I won't know what'll happen to me until I have it in my possession. Of course, I can always put it in the tan van. I'd give it to Dan who'll take it to Fran.
