hogwarts?
I'm so happy. My flat mate at uni lives in a place called (or at least this is how i think it's spelt) Annack. Well the castle is where the films were all filmed. so she gave me a photo. i've got a photo of Hogwarts!!!!!!!! i'm so happy. Apparently she's an extra in the first film so i'm going to have to look for her.
Anyhoo, where else were the castle shots filmed? does anyone know? I think i'll build up a collection, you see, and have a collage of hogwarts shots.

They filmed some at Durham Cathedral, maybe at Gloucester Cathedral too (not sure about that one).

How hard would it be to get a picture of it when there are tons on the net and you can see it in the movie?

She lives near newcastle xk, so neh. And i maintain that it's never said in the book that hogwarts is in scotland. They say north because it gets colder, but if you can show me the page, or the quote then, yet again, i'll admit that you're right.
But it's really Hogwarts!! I mean there's the forbidden forest off to one side. it's like a perfect shot. thank you brian, and sun-star. i shall delve into this subject further. apparently the forest next to the castle was also where they shot some of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Alan Rickman must feel like he lives there.

I showed you the interview! It said so. She said it in the interview. We've had this argument before. So many times...

Hogwarts is in Scotland? Was it shot there...or is that where it's located in the books....I'm confused...it can't be where it's located in the books becasue they live near London.

Yes, the Dursleys live near London, but it seems likely that Hogwarts itself is in Scotland.

Yeah, it was filmed in lots of diffrent places. The parts that were filmed in Alnwick, were the outside shots and the quidditch scenes.... thats why it's generally refered to as being 'Hogwarts Castle' instead of 'Alnwick Castle'.
And I think Durham was used for some of the inside shots.... I know it was used for some of the outside snow scenes as well.

Have you any idea how many big church things london has got. It's over-run with the things. Thank you Lalaith_Elf, you seem to know a lot; are you from around there or visited it or something? See XK, it isn't necessarily in scotland. I've seen the interview, but until she writes it in the books, it is not Written.

I don't think Westminster Abbey was used as a location. This has some of them.
BTW, Winchester is in Hampshire (south-west of London) and is where Jane Austen is buried, if anyone's interested

There are a lot of places in england that begin with W, aren't there? Wiltshire, winchester, westminster, warrington, worcester, wimbledon, ...
Anyhoo, ignore my ramblings. sirigorn you're forgiven, where did you leave to? i have something against surrey, i'm from the north of england. Do you like Jane Austen, sun-star? Well I've got a list of links of hogwarts photos now, but most are the same film shots. Thank you all!
