i joined the student photography club at the university a couple of weeks ago.. the best thing is, now i have access to their great studio for a stupidly small amount of money. so, i took a couple of friends along and we spent more than 12 hours there on sunday, learning how to use the studio and also having fun posing for each other.
so, here are a couple of photos from the shoot.. enjoy

A shot of the sunset in the haze of a cloudy evening, taken from my cabin. It attained this even more enhanced fiery glow through the camera lense

The Queen and Princess Maxima really look as they were quite enjoying themselves. Not at all like how stiffly these sort of events happen at this site of the border. And I have to say, all that orange is quite fetching.
I have some of the Elf Fantasy Fair I promised to post. The thing about the Fair that I like the most is that not only is it the only time it's socially accepted to gawk at one another's garb down to the details, most people, random people, whom you've never met, don't know and probably never will, will stop and even strike a pose for you. These two were awesome, they even brought their own soundtrack! I don't know where they hid it, but they carried a small sound system that provided insect twittering and gnashing sounds. One of the many stalls on the fair. This one had gorgeous pottery! (We bought one of the blue plates for my aunt.) But you also had swords, clothes, jewellery, masks, bow and arrows, everything for the fantasy outfit! This Angel of Death litterally oozed coolness. Stately striding through the crowd, and he had the size to carry it too. Some of the musicians that provided music throughout the Fair, in costume. The woman was really good with that lyre. Some adapted their clothing to their companions. This couple really stood out. The woman later danced to some of the music, and that was quite a sight, unfortunately that picture was blurred. A wizard family. The guy had the right hair to look good in wizard robes. The LARPers had their own tent camp at the far end of the Fair. These guys were doing an impromptu re-enactment of the 'Parley?' scene from Pirates of the Caribbean for the audience. The sign reads: "The little elves are taking care of nature here! Do not tred here, please!" This hung everywhere where the public wasn't allowed to come. I thought it was a nice touch. Just like all the panels with maps of the castle grounds had little flags saying: "You stand or fly here."

Hah, yes, I did recognise some of the people, like the guy with enormous wings, from your pictures too. I guess, if you work all year on a nifty costume, you want to maximise the exposure. Still, it does make your fingers itch to make one of your own, not that it will ever be anything near the beauties that walk around on the Fair, but still...
I see you had slightly better weather than we. Was there a big crowd?

Yes, but because the grounds are so extensive, it wasn't a problem.
I did do the dancing workshop with about 100 people or so though

I was wondering because the pre-sale tickets for Saturday were pretty much gone when we got our tickets for Sunday. And since there was quite a crowd on Sunday, I was wondering whether more people had come on Saturday or not. I remember the Medieval Road being murder to get through, absolutely packed with people.
EDIT: I just read on the website that a whoopin' 24.500 people visited!

Hmmm, didn't really have that problem, though Medieval Road was the busiest place to be on Saturday too. It wasn't much worse than shopping in the city on a Saturday afternoon.
