Sorry to hear about your daughter, Beor. I offer my condolences and a few proper quotes for that kind of situation. (I am searcing for quotes for a marquee to put at the bottom of HVEL as well as a few other places.) I can't complain. I guess I am extremely bored today, and my new pea-coat was stained with an Alfredo-like cheese sauce . I hope that will wash out.

Ooh! Brownies! Can I have some? I offer filbullar (nice Swedish muffin things) in exchange.
Of course it's allowed Me9996. By the time you hit Elf Lord status, you'll have the perfect title. Wizzard is still my favourite though, but I also really like The aqua-marine, Hobbit, Of Rohan, and Of Gondor. For an Elven ring, maybe give the specific name of either Vilya, Nenya, or Narya. I had to google to find Narya, which led me to this cool website: tuckborough.net. Narya was the ring Gandalf bore. It was given to him by Cìrdan, who in turn received it from Gil-Galad.

Dancing on the tables....
*** There is an inn, a merry old inn, beneath an old grey hill, And there they brew a beer so brown That the Man in the Moon himself came down one night to drink his fill. The ostler has a tipsy cat that plays a five-stringed fiddle; And up and down he runs his bow, Now squeaking high, now purring low, now sawing in the middle. The landlord keeps a little dog that is mighty fond of jokes; When there's good cheer among the guests, He cocks and ear at all the jests and laughs until he chokes. They also keep a horned cow as proud as any queen; But music turns her head like ale, And makes her wave her tufted tail and dance upon the green. And O! the row of silver dishes and the store of silver spoons! For Sunday there's a special pair, And these they polish up with care on Saturday afternoons. The Man in the Moon was drinking deep, and the cat began to wail; A dish and a spoon on the table danced, The cow in the garden madly pranced, and the little dog chased his tail. The Man in the Moon took another mug, and then rolled beneath his chair; And there he dozed and dreamed of ale, Till in the sky the stars were pale, and dawn was in the air. Then the ostler said to his tipsy cat: 'The white horses of the Moon, They neigh and champ their silver bits; But their master's been and drowned his wits, and the Sun'll be rising soon!' So the cat on the fiddle played hey-diddle-diddle, a jig that would wake the dead; He squeaked and sawed and quickened the tune, While the landlord shook the Man in the Moon: 'It's after three!' he said. They rolled the Man slowly up the hill and bundled him into the Moon, While his horses galloped up in rear, And the cow came capering like a deer, and a dish ran up with the spoon. Now quicker the fiddle went deedle-dum-diddle; the dog began to roar, The cow and the horses stood on their heads; The guests all bounded from their beds and danced upon the floor. With a ping and a pang the fiddle-strings broke! the cow jumped over the Moon, And the little dog laughed to see such fun, And the Saturday dish went off at a run with the silver Sunday spoon. The round Moon rolled behind the hill, as the Sun raised up her head. She hardly believed her fiery eyes; For though it was day, to her surprise they all went back to bed. *** I found this nice site so I didn't have to retype the whole song - JRR Tolkiens Lord of the Rings

Great website JD. Good to see everyone singing and drinking beer!
*ahem* *puts hands behind back, when reciting poetry...* Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To seek the pale enchanted gold. The dwarves of yore made mightly spells, While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells. For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gleaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword. On silver necklaces they strung The flowering stars, on crowns they hung The dragon-fire, in twisted wire They meshed the light of moon and sun. Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeouns deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day, To claim our long-forgotten gold. Goblets they carved there for themselves And harps of gold; where no man delves There lay they long, and many a song Was sung unheard by men or elves. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread; The trees like torches blazed with light. The bells were ringing in the dale And men looked up with faces pale; The dragon's ire more fierce than fire Laid low their towers and houses frail. The mountain smoked beneath the moon; The dwarves, they heard the tramp of doom. They fled their hall to dying fall Beneath his feet, beneath the moon. Far over the misty mountains grim To dungeons deep and caverns dim We must away, ere break of day, To win our harps and gold from him! Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day, To find our long-forgotten gold. That's my favourite song in The Hobbit. Isn't it beautiful? Too bad Dwarves didn't get more press eh?

Poetry! Yay! I do like that song, Nurvy. When I read the Hobbit, and LOTR, I would stop for every song, and write a tune that fit well with it so that I could experience the full effect of it...I was a crazy kid, but it's something I have to do if there are songs in books.
I'll have some ginger beer, and join the party...I brought my viola along, so I can play requests... |

Right on Em! Can you play the song JD sang, so he can sing it again and then do a backflip off the table and break some of my crockery?
*conveniently walks by JDs table with a pitches of beer and some glasses*
