I never saw any of these mistakes! I guess I just never watched it that closely. One thing I did notice though was in Rivendell, when they show a far off view, it looks like the waterfalls are not falling. It looked to me like they were still. But I might have been imagining it.

Bloopers! :D
lol! i have a few more errors:
Gandalf is wearing hiking boots when he approaches Bag End, shouldn't he be wearing Middle-Earthy boots? When Boromir tries to take the ring, the chain is on it, but when Frodo offers the ring to Aragorn, the chain is gone! there are loads of Errors on The NItpickers Site that include not only Lord of the Rings, but Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Simpsons etc...

In the commentary by PJ, he still claims he can't see the car. This has probably been said, but I think what people think is a car is actually smoke rising from the chimney of a house (or hole).

Yeah, I've been to that site. Half of them are not true though. It pointed out a lot of things that I didn't notice....

No it's not smoke from a chimney. Have you ever seen a chimney that moves along the horizon at about 40 miles per hour? |

you can see that her ears really are very faintly pointed. i think that this is because the makeup crew used gelatin ears, these floow the nattural ear shape. does anyone know if cate blanchett has very rounded natural ears?

Yeah, but they really don't look very pointed in that part. They are, but not very much. They look kinda big and floppy even. Oh well.

When the camera shows a wide shot of the two hobbits and the scarecrow, you can see a lot of background of the countryside. in the top right corner there is smoke billowing in the wind. I think this is what people mean when they talk about the car. But I watched it again, and I still think it's just a hut. It is shown in two shots, and doesn't appear to be moving.

Okay, I have a dvd but I didn't do a frame by frame. I'll have to check that out, as I wasn't sure that the smoke I saw was what people were referring to.

I can't read this whole thing now. (running screaming children) Has anyone mentioned Bilbo's rubber foot flapping at the very beginning of the new bit where he thinks he's lost his precious ring? Or have I mentioned it already? Who am I? (Shut up you kids!)
