Sweden just beat Belarus with 2-1. That was a poor result, I was hoping we would crush them.

Last year, during the Olympic Games, it was the biggest upset in Sweden ever when Belarus won in the quarterfinals and destroyed our dream of a gold medal.
Now, we Swedes were burning with lust for revenge. But yet we couldn't beat them with more than 2-1

And USA lost with 0-1 to Switzerland. That was good for my Scandinavian brothers, the Danes. Now Denmark is guaranteed to play in next years World Championship, and they haven't played in it since 1949
Unfortunately Denmark lost to Russia with 7-1, but that was expected.

No we figure we gotta throw you a bone every so often. hee hee....

But in all seriousness my open minded american opinion is that pound per pound the canadians still have the edge on hockey talent right now. but in 20 years if things continue as they have been economically and hockey continues to grow in popularity in the states we should be well ahead of you guys. And with the hijacking of your national sport the assimilation of your culture will be complete. resistance is futile....

But it started to look already that the result would be 1-1, so it was good that Sweden made even that one goal in the end of the game.
Will Tommi Salo be Sweden´s goalie in most of the games, do you know?

Tommy Salo hasn't played any game yet, and it's possible he won't play at all since he has injured his shoulder. There are a lot of rumours whether or not he'll play but hopefully he can play tomorrow when Sweden faces Canada. If he plays tomorrow, it's likely that he'll play all of the coming games too.

Yeah, the Canadians beat us
But that's OK, we're not out yet! We can/will still win this championship!

Yeah - the games are only beginning from here when some of the.. umm.. weaker teams are out. I seriously felt sorry for the slovenian team yesterday when Finland beat them 12-0.....
(There´s couple of small obstacles for Sweden´s victory though.. ) *I´m just being a good competive Finn*

Yeah, better revel in enjoying that before your Devils get soundly thrashed by the Sens (assuming they make it past Philly first)

Yeah yeah - we'll see. They won the Stanley Cup in 2000, missed by one game in 2001. We'll have to see now how 2003 goes.

Now that the Leafs lost I will have to cheer for Vancouver (I don't like the Sens). It would be good if we had two Canadian teams playing for the Cup, I'm sick of all these American teams winning it.
