I will most certainly pay the debt. I'm trying to figure out just when/how Valandil's feelings are going to get 'confused' for awhile. I really hadn't even intended the 'Viagra effect' initially - that was supposed to just be a misunderstanding by Aiwendis, which she quickly realized. Oh well... But now I have to think about the factors: Valandil's initial leanings, a love potion, his own strength of mind, the fact that the potion was weakened - by the timing of its preparation and by the topaz... I'm quite sure it should still have some effect, but not sure how much - or how long it would last. If left to himself, I imagine Valandil's affections would eventually return to what they would have been otherwise, freeing him from the potion's magic - but I don't expect Aiwendis will leave him to himself. It will be interesting to see how we all play this all out.

Post #332 now ends like that:

Val Please note, that the FULL effect of Number Nine potion would have made you love Aiwendis ALL YOUR LIFE. So I hope even as it is, it will work at least for a month? |

What a post, Val!
Very very interesting... I liked your explanation why Val didn't follow the old custom. So it was the Queen? Very funny and very plausible. Well, I really hope Aiwendis will not need to be her daughter-in law. Also loved your insight into the Governor's family. And Estelmo's POV. He is so charming, the old man. But I have got a question: Estelmo said that Ciryon had taken to strong drinks. When has it happened? Before, during, or after the war? Had it something to do with Ilmenzor-the real one, his best friend? |

Hmmm... Full Moon: Full Life (although possibly able to be countered by circumstances listed for third case below) New Moon: Without effect Otherwise: Varied and unpredictable - especially with other factors - previous loves (stronger resistance with actual attachments than with mere infatuations), strength of mind resisting, other factors (such as weakening or strengthening by certain gems), other magic (EDIT - made after Gordis' initial agreement: including a Magical Elven Kiss - although I don't expect you'll agree with that one Gordis! And I may not find a cooperative enough Elf! ), etc. Maybe something like that? (EDIT - one more time: and... according to the song, Love Potion Number Nine would releave me of my senses enough to not know whether it was day or night, and to start kissing everything in sight! Strong stuff, that one!)

However - the effects of the war may have figured in, or dealing with the fate of his friend Ilmenzor. If that was the case though, their mother would have only heard it second-hand. So - perhaps it started with an irresponsible youth and worsened with the War...??? BTW - is "Queen-mother" the correct term? I always heard it applied to Queen Elizabeth's mother - but didn't know if that was because she was mother of the reigning monarch (in which case the term should be correct) or because she was the mother of a reigning QUEEN (and if therefore, the correct term for Valandil's mother might be 'King-mother' - but that sounds odd). Does anyone know definitively? Or is there a good way to look that up?

By the way Gordis - thank you (and you others who do it as well - there ARE several of you), for all the encouragement you give - both to me and other players. Unfortunately, I don't just naturally make comments like that on the posts of others. As I've mentioned once, I still enjoy reading them very much - I just don't state so very much. I certainly should though, even just judging by the encouragment I feel when I see those kinds of comments.

Would it be possible to make the University Campus part of the map more specific in terms of which buildings are which? Right now the only ones labeled are the Palace and the Main hall. Our characters are going to be moving aorund in that area a lot and it would be helpful to know where everything is.

TD and Crazy Squirrel, and Udu, fantastic posts today (and was it yesterday evening, too?). So, I just now logged on and hammered out Viv's reaction to the Nazgul rumble, and I just came up with it as I wrote - impromptu. I hope you guys like it! Somehow, this is exactly how I see it happening. Hopefully, Buz and Udu can put their heads together now, and do a real fast healing-forgetful spell on Merwen, while Lilly and Viv get to the kitchen and pull out some booze bottles to have around the maid, maybe spill some on her dress and stuff so she stinks of it. We have to get this done like within the next 20 minutes or so; who KNOWS when Zimra or Rian or someone comes home. I think they can pull it off. If they sense someone coming home early, they can just finish the maid off, and Khamul & Buz perhaps can carry the body down to the wine cellar for the time being, until Viv can tell Lomi to call the wolf pack around to the back of the estate.

Lotesse, forgive my bluntness, but I can't say that I am fond of your last post.
Khamul is INCREDIBLY out of character. It is TD's final decision, not mine, but I believe it doesn't fit with what TD tried to portray all along at all. Udu, I think, is also not himself. He is cold, sarcastic, and very well trained. Buz maybe is OK. Lilly is a good fighter, but t she is not able to best Khamul single-handedly. That laugh... but maybe it is just me. The one in character is Viv, but why should others, especially Khamul, react to her words in this way, even listen to her? |

CS, the whole point is that IS extremely rare. But I want them all putting their heads together and solving this problem toGETHER, and I really wanted them to have a moment to snap out of it, wherein we can all see other sides of who they are. We cannot all always be cold, sarcastic, ditzy, whatever; there MUST me other layers to us, but change whatever you want.

1. Viv couldn’t have seen Melwen, as Khamul removed her already 2. When Viv entered, Khamul’s sword was NOT pointing at Udu’s throat anymore, they were standing swords in hand, the three in a row, facing Khamul. Buz in the middle, Udu on his right, Lilly on his left. Khamul was right by the door. 3. I don’t think anyone would have found the situation amusing, least of all Khamul, after being bested by his underlings. 4. the BIG problem is NOT the woman downstairs, she is but a nuisance, BUT the quarrel with Khamul. What was the need to build the tension like that - by everyone: Gor, Udu, myself - if it could be resolved by a silly laughter? If Khamul can be reasoned with so easily, why was everybody so scared? |

TD, CS, and Lotesse - I have just posted. I think I have left an opening there with the maid still showing signs of life. I will be around for the rest of the evening, so if there are any suggestions for changing anything, just let me know.
By the way, I note with this post that my status has just changed from "Enting" to "Elven Warrior." *smiles happily* Last edited by Udukhaturz : 10-22-2005 at 05:25 PM. |
