You guys have no idea how much ass I kicked tonight--my sister came to me with a melody and some chords she was putting together, and I was able to look at it and tell her not only what key it was in, but I found out why she was hitting a brick wall (she unintentionally moved from A minor directly into D major because she was trying to follow her melody with exact chords).
Then I showed her how she can move the melody around inside of the chords to make it more interesting, and showed her how to invert chords to give make the harmonies more interesting. I rule!!!! *sits down with a nice cup of tea* Jumping cracker-cheese.... I do believe I may be becoming a music theory nerd... I even studied it this afternoon... willingly. And did more than I needed to. WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME? O.o |

I don't think I've had a chance to eat them... not that I won't. My dad is a huge crablegs fan. He got my picky uncle started on them. Woo hoo.
So look at this: I didn't do it. I just found it!

Bunicula! Speaking of him, I haven't seen him around for a while.
Do you think he's okay and still keeping off blood? Maybe you should be careful, Hector...

Oh say, can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming... And the rocket's red glare - the bombs bursting in air - Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there! Oh, say does that star spangled banner yet wave Over the land of the free And the home of the brave? HAPPY BIRTHDAY U.S.A!!!!!! Here's to another 232!

Queen of Hearts, I believe. The other two were more into chess than croquet and executions, IIRC.

Thanks for that. At least I can legally go to a bar here without the use of a fake ID. Hurrah.

I feel a bit shallow... I still spend the majority of my time just doing and thinking about music. That's great and all, but it still tends to make my conversations very one-track :P.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I want to be a good musician, but I also want to be a well rounded person. I already keep on top of religion and politics, but I prefer not to discuss those very often and only with a few people that I know are good debaters. So those are out... I'm thinking of picking up a 'How to Read Shakespeare' book I know is sitting on our shelves and seeing if I can dive a little ways into that just for starters. I'd still like some ideas though. Anyone? |

Tess,
Try a few of these: 1) something to do with gardening. Preferably veggies, not flowers (nothing wrong with them either, but....) 2) a general topic like: what constitutes American culture? Read some books about it, maybe. Other "general topics" like this one that you can think of, use them. 3) Mac vs. Microsoft. That always provokes some good debate, but nothing as serious as politics .
