I decided not to take that 2nd part-time job. I'm glad I worked up the courage to decline the offer before I'd gone crazy over the amount of work and stuff.

Glad you had the courage to make the right choice, Mari.
I finally got that piano home. It's taken a long time because even though it was only a couple streets over, from their garage to mine, I didn't have anything to carry it in or anyone strong enough to lift it into a truck. We ended up renting a U-haul. But, we finally got it. It's pretty out of tune but definitely playable for now. I'm just glad it's over. It was such a pain in the butt trying to keep calling the guy about it, trying to figure out how to get it, etc. But now I'm just super excited that I finally have a piano again! And I actually know where most of my best sheet music is! Yay! The other few things I was going to post before is that I won NaNoWriMo again this year (also posted that in the thread about it). I'm glad it's over so I can focus on other things like reading the books I've had to put away until now. Also, I really like how my novel turned out. There were some rough spots where I started to lose faith in it. But now I like it. Also I lost a pound of weight. It's funny because from May until now (except for the week where I gained 5 pounds at my mom's house and then lost it back again) I've weighed exactly the same, even though I've changed my eating and exercise habits drastically. It's because I lost a lot of fat and gained a lot of muscle. And I really like running. I'm glad I started. I'm getting a lot better and faster and I feel great. And I love work so much |

Congrats on declining the new job, Mari
And congrats Katya on yet another NaNoWriMo win as well as on the piano, the lovely job and the healthier lifestyle! Running is enjoyable indeed! I got addicted to it this summer, running on average half an hour each day for three months (I'm lazier now though when school's started again). I finally got my internet connection up and running after a month of being cut off! (I could still leech off my neighbours highly unreliable wireless network during that time - I am indeed an internet junkie ).

Thanks Mari!
No school until late in the afternoon, so today I've had a very nice time at home, relaxing, drinking tea and listening to Christmas hymns all day. Little things that make you happy

My best friend, who is 32 (I love her She's my bff), and I went out for lunch today to celebrate the end of our classes for this semester (next week is study week, then finals).
So we went to a mexican place, and the waitress asked if we wanted anything to drink. I figured, "What the heck, it's been ages since I turned 21 and I still haven't legally ordered a drink, why not have the first one with my best friend?" So I was going to get a small margarita but the waitress told us that the 8oz one is $5, and the 20oz one is $8... so my friend goes "Oh, well that's a waste of money, lets get the large one and we'll split it," with a wicked grin on her face... that should've tipped me off right away . By the time we got done eating I was dizzy, and it confused me because I didn't think I could've had -that- much to drink.... And I almost did a faceplant when I tried to push open the door for my friend and kind of... almost kept going after the door had stopped moving.... But it's not like my speech was impaired or anything . It wore off after about 45 minutes so nothing major. Later that night, when I was at her house, her husband got home and we told him the story, and he started laughing and said, "Yeah, you drank the whole thing because she doesn't like margaritas," and my friend started cracking up. It was a total setup. She told me that she had about three sips of it and apparently I downed the rest of the entire thing myself without even noticing that she had stopped drinking. She was driving anyways, so she thought it would be really funny to get me tipsy. Anyone else and I would've been upset, but I love my friend so it was funny . |

All Sinterklaas pressies are bought and wrapped! Thank heavens. ^_^
I hope they like my uniquer pressies, I thought long and hard on them.

All Christmas cards are written and stamped!
I thought long and hard too to make each card nice and unique.

Likewise, Varnafindë, but I usually blame the slow post!
Hair is short again! Now I only have to wait until the yearly cancer fundraising begins to send off what used to be my pony tail.

My hairdresser likes to tell me that my hair would make a really nice wig
Eärniel, do you hand in the hair somewhere or do you mail it to Locks of Love or something?

It's a Belgian initiative between a branch of hair products and the Belgian cancer fund. You can hand your hair in at affiliated hairdressers, or just mail it, like I did last year. The cancer fund gets a nice sum for every tail sent in, and the hair is used for wigs for patients who lost their hair due to the chemo.

You can do the same here, though it's usually taken care of by the hairdresser.

Indeed, but since my mother cuts my hair (and in exchange I colour hers, and we both save money by not having to go to the hairdresser's) I handle the sending myself.

I only go once or twice a year, so it doesn't really make much of a difference financially.
