My favorite class was obedience; high-pressure, single-mistake elimination. Fun! It was always hard when they called for a counter-canter; the horses would hear the "lope" part but not the "counter" part and try to take up the correct lead. Or if they happened to call that when you were going around the curve - it's always hard to start a counter-canter on an inside curve. I always liked the halter classes, too, for some reason.

My mom used to compete, but then one of our horses went haywire and bucked both of my parents off at separate occasions... it went down hill from there.

Heh, I guess you would quallify me as 'cattle horse stuff'. Cutting, Team Roping and barrel racing.

I've done Horsemanship, western pleasure and obedience. It was sort of fun, but my horse didnt really like it all that much. He was a working horse, always prefered to have some form on livestock infront of him to work. All my horses turn out that way.

Though they do extremely well at obedience work too... Bah. I prefer ranch work to show arenas anyways.
