They should have Lord of the Rings conventions like they do for antique cars etc etc ...

That's true, but what would there be on display? Mostly book collections and a few odds and ends... I think they have a good fan following, but I'm not sure there is enough paraphernilia to reach a similar scale as shows for antiques and other such things.
Good idea, though.

They do conventions for pretty much everything, u just have to look on the net. They even do Stargate SG-1 conventions!

Well, they could have a movie-related one with props like the swords, costumes, The One Ring, stuff like that. I'd go! (and mostly hang out at the weapons...no one would be able to move me for quite some time...but we won't talk about that!) Just no actors, like Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom. Must keep them safe from crazy fan girls... j/k
