I am really interested in Anglo-Saxon (Old English), and will probably study it in University next year. I would also really like to learn to speak and write Estonian, which is a language closely realated to Finnish. Other languages I would love to learn include Welsh, Gothic, and Icelandic. I'm not in a position right now that I actually could begin learnign these, because I'm in grade 12, so I'm really busy, but once I get to university, look out!

I've searched around on the internet trying to find good Welsh/Gaelic/Irish, Chineese and Latin-courses. Have found some, but never gotten around to really learn anything (read through one or two lessons in each though).
Apart from that I've learned Quenya and tried myself on Sindarin. Learning Spanish at school (but that's hardly an obscure language).

![]() I was trying to learn Welsh for a while. All I remember is: Sharadwc un araf, ween dusgee Cymraeg. (That is definately not spelt properly, but it means "Speak slowly, I'm learning Welsh.) That's a project that will someday be removed from the back shelp. Welsh is a beautiful language.

Finnish is my native language, by the way, so it's not an obscure language for me at all... ![]() I'm studying Quenya. And some time ago I tried to learn modern Welsh, but I haven't got time for that lately. Welsh is a beautiful language, though, and I thought that it could be nice to know some Welsh if I ever start to study Sindarin. So my interest in obscure languages is heavily influenced by Tolkien.

I take LAtin in school, I'm teaching myself Quenya, and my lifetime goal is to speak Irish Gaelic fluently before I die.
I'd also like to learn Dutch.

I am studying Ancient Egyptian Language at University. It bears absolutely no resemblance to a modern day language and as everyone will know, doesn't even use the alphabet English does.
I'd say that this is definately an obscure one ![]() ![]() Other than that, though I only speak English and a little French at the moment I'll be taking a Japanese class next year (sept.2004.)

My friend have been trying to learn me Japanese (though I don't think he can speak fluently), but with no success yet. But I know a sentence:
Joi san ga imasu ka. Which means.... I need a female doctor ![]() ![]()
