“ It seems captain that a collective sub-creative force have deposited the psychic energies of tolkien's world in another dimension via a subtle quantum manifestation of accumulated desires to back it so. So doing, a sub-quantum storm passed through NexusIII at just the same time our ship entered orbit and we are now in ME, late 3rd age.”

“ Say it in English, you cold green blooded lizard.”

“Doctor, it is not logical to call me a lizard, I am a mammal.”

“So Spock, if I got it right we are stranded in a different Universe, in a primitive world.
You say this is Tolkien’s Middle-Earth?”

Spock: “That is my assessment of the situation, captain.”

Kirk: “Interesting.”

Bones:” Well, if this is Middle-Earth, those fellows over there looking at us must be the White Council.”

Spock: “Sir, if I may remind you, we must be cautious, the Prime Directive states we must not interfere with pre-warp cultures.”

Bones: ”There you go again, spoiling the fun, you Greek mythology fugitive.”

Spock: ”Frankly doctor, your insistence in comparing me with the old Greek god Pan is becoming quite obsessive.”

Kirk: ”Never mind that. The fact is we are in a different Universe, with different rules. If I remember it correctly, in the Council there are two Maiar. Now while their technology is entirely different from the Federation, these are creatures that have predated the Big Bang and have a insight of the most deep secrets of the Universe or Universes.”

Spock: ”That is correct captain”

Bones: ”so we won’t break the Prime Directive by aiding them!”

Kirk: ”Have the Enterprise been transported here with us?”

Spock: “Yes captain, it is in orbit as we speak”

Kirk moves away and talks with the Enterprise, then returns.

Kirk: “ Good, gentlemen, let us go talk with them”

Kirk and the others approach the Council.

Kirk: “Gentlemen, you don’t know us but we know you. We are travellers from a far country known as the United Federation of Planets. We know you are debating about the nature of the Necromancer. Well we know his nature, he is Sauron.”

Saruman: “how can you be sure of that, stranger? What proofs have you?”

Just then a bewildered little man in black appears in front of the characters. Kirk fires his phaser and the little man falls, unconscious.

kirk: “You can ask him yourself, as soon as he awakes…. Now that I think of it you might not have time to do so.”

Gandalf: ”Why not?”

Kirk:” as we speak my ship is doing a scan, looking for the One Ring”

Kirk pick up his communicator as it start ringing

Kirk: ”ah! They have found it! They are now beaming it directly into the fires of Mount Doom.”

Suddenly, the little man awakes, gives a great cry and disappears in a dense cloud of black fume. As he does so it can be heard a long Noooooooooo fading in the distance.

Gandalf:”I think I understand. Now I understand that odd note I heard during the Music of the Ainur. I thank you stranger”

Kirk:” No problem , btw my name is Kirk, this is Bones and this is Spock.”

Saruman:” I don’t know why, but I feel like a great weight have been lifted from me, I thank you, Mr Kirk.”

Elrond : “Yes, and welcome!You are all welcome to stay here as long as you want…may I enquire about your race Mr Spock? I have never seen such ears.”

Spock: “I am Vulcan”

Bones:” You know Jim, I had this terrible thought, now we won’t have the Lord of the Rings…

Kirk: ”True, but look at it this way, not all is a loss, I think we might be staying in this world for a very long time.”

As he says this, his eyes cross with those of a beautiful elven maiden, for a moment that lasts an eternity they look into each other souls….

Bones:”Well, now we can forget of that Aragorn-Arwen marriage too”
