"but at that moment a quick succession of arrows" needs to be
"but at that moment there was a quick succession of arrows" or something like that. Just for the sake of the grammar.

The Narnia bits are a different universe to Tolkien's, and we're leaving it out of this story. Baru tries to avoid talking about it, as it's rather difficult to explain to people anyway. Her history is now Rivendell, where she has got family.

Sad about the grey cape - wouldn't it be nice if it was found somehow?
