That sucks Midge. How about this to make up for it: you get free hot chocolate at the Teacup Cafe for life. Now does that beat the Bush administration's monetary policy or what?
![]() Relatedly, the BC government is going to hand out a "climate change dividend" of $100. This coincides with their carbon tax on gasoline (and diesel, I presume) of 2.4 cents per litre. I think they're just trying to make BCers less mad about the carbon tax. Personally, I don't care about the carbon tax. I don't think it will be much of a deterrent, but at least it will provide additional revenue just when government programs could use a little extra dough, such as education and healthcare. Maybe they will overhaul the Ministry of Children and Families, which I feel has inadequate infrastructure and resources to help our most needful children. Or maybe it will go into clean energy projects or something. But I am looking forward to the $100. I'm going to put it toward a new pair of hiking boots. My current pair have been demoted to work boots due to the copious amounts of duct tape on the heels. ![]()
