Haldis ran harder, trying to keep up, but the elf's stride and stamina were far greater than hers and the woman faltered, both from lack of breath, and from fear as she noticed how deep into the forest they were getting.
"Tabrîl!" She called again, "Please stop! You endanger us both!" Haldis could barely see the elf in the gloom ahead now and she had used more magic than was wise during the past night, if their flight attracted spiders... the realization that she would be unable to defend herself hit and the Beorning woman strove all the harder to catch up to the warrior.
