Flowers and more

If we can have a frog thread and the sorts, we can also have a thread on flowers.
Feel free to post pics of your favourite flowers, to talk about them, or just post some gardening tips or something.

I'm a complete flowerfreak, especially wild flowers with bright colours.
Apparently when I was little I would pull out the weeds with little flowers in it and nurture them in my little part of the garden. There is also a story floating around about me stealing and burying the pride of my neighbour in the hopes that I would get such a pretty flower in my garden too, but I plead ignorance.

My all time favourite flower is an orange rose with a red or yellow shine.

I also like gerbera's because of their bright and happy colours:

The bright colours of Corn flowers and poppy's never cease to amaze me:

And last but not least, the sunflower:

In Japan, my friends gave me the nickname Himawari which literally means "turning to the sun" and it is the Japanese word for sunflower. I really treasure this nickname and came to like the sunflower very much.
