If all else failed, you could always draw pictures.

Me: I mean you no harm! *holds up stick figure picture of me and Fellowship clasping hands*
Boromir: What foul scrawlings are these?!
Gandalf: It is the language of Mordor!
Aragorn: She's an Orc in disguise and she means to take us captive!
Frodo: She wants to steal the Ring!
Pippin: She'll starve us until we look like that picture!
