Personally I don't have a problem with seal hunting as long as populations (and levels of hunting) are sustainable. This applies to hunting any animal though. About lawsuits, I think one reason this isn't an issue in Canada is because if you sue someone (person or company) and lose, you have to pay their legal costs. This prevents people from suing unless they feel they have a darn good case.
