That is SO true. One time, I walked out on a performance at the San Francisco Symph it was THAT bad, one would expect better from such a stellar musical group, but... and I wasn't the only one! Appx. half or more of the audience got up and left, during performance. That rarely happens, too, in that world; everyone's so friggin "polite," but boy howdy, they walked out on this one! And for damn good reason. That was like ten years ago, maybe even more like 14 years ago my GOD how time does fly. I cannot recall even what composer was being played; some late 20th century wannabe no doubt. I think it was right after George Perle resigned as Conductor-in-residence. Stick a crappy score with a crappy conductor, and it can be pure torture, just like bad commercial hip-hop!
