The Ave Maria

The Ave Maria (any version) is my favorite song of all time.

I have just discovered that ALMOST NO ONE SINGS IT RIGHT!!!! *eye twitch*

Most singers do this nasty... 'dip' thing. Like they have to scoop down to get their vabrato or something, and then they belt out the best parts as if they were trying to sing for someone who's across a football field.

Anyways, does anyone have any favorite singers who've sung the Ave Maria?

My favorites would have to be Jewel and Karen Carpenter.
