Named after a character?

I hope this is a new subject of a thread.

In today's paper I read, that there are four Gandalfs, four Frodos and one Bilbo in Finland. Wonder how it feels for a little finnish boy to be called Gandalf..

Could you name your kid after a character in any of the books? Or would you like your own name to be taken from a Tolkien-book?

I put this here, on this forum, because I thought the people naming their kids this, were inspired by the movies, not the books.
