My friend told me this story: one time she was standing outside a movie theatre and the people behind her were talking about the last time they had seen a movie, which had been LotR. They said the plot didn't make any sense and Frodo was an idiot and that they should just destroy the ring IT CAN'T BE DESTROYED LIKE THAT YOU STUPID NON FANS! And then when they got to the part on Khazad Dum, they were like "And that one old dude went and fell off a cliff, what was his name again?"
"Whose name?" "You know, that guy with the beard?" "The Sauron guy?" "No, the other one, with the pointy hat..." "Wasn't his name George?" I am surprised she let them go with their lives....I wouldn't have!
