I wrote a ballad some other day
I wrote it to the tune of 'The Green Berets'
But I think that I threw it away.

The first few words are all I recall,
But I'll type them out for you all,
So that your browsing eye may fall

On a few little lines,
Of my own design.
Without further ado, here's the rhyme:

Fighting hobbits from the Shire,
Fearless folk we all admire,
Seldom more than three feet tall
They have the Ring to rule them all!
