Lord of Light

Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny is a great book IMOHO. I read it for school summer reading, and its one of the few books I've been required to read over this summer and past summers that I can honestly say I loved. It's got a really original plot about one man standing up to self-made Hindu gods (yes, that is vague).
