Colleges
I am currently looking at colleges, planning to major in music and/or history. I play piano, oboe, and organ. Can mooters tell me anything they know about any of these schools? They are in no particular order.
Gordon College (Massachusetts) Grove City College (western PA) Univ. of Virginia Messiah College (eastern PA) Univ. of Richmond Ithaca (NY) Carnegie Mellon Wheaton (Chicago) Calvin College (Michigan) James Madison and then there's Eastman school of music at Rochester...but I'm not that good. Nor do I want to be a famous musician in a top-tier orchestra. I've looked up the music faculty I'd study under at all those schools already. One thing, if you want to study music it's a good idea to be near a big urban center so that you have access to lots of excellent musicians/concerts/etc. Not all those schools are...for example Gordon is near Boston (good) but Calvin is near...umm...? And for history, that's not as touchy an area as music. I'd think most schools would have a half-decent history department. Last edited by Mercutio : 08-16-2005 at 11:40 AM. |
