If they show Elijah Wood from the waist up, naked, and it's tastefully done, I'm OK with it. If they show ANYTHING more than that, I will march to New Zealand and tell Peter Jackson what I think about it. (Or at least write him a letter)
Just out of curiosity, why are you females averted to seeing Elijah Wood without clothes?

Like you said, waist up is fine...lower legs is fine...just not completely nude.
PLEASE BE TASTEFUL.

Bropous - that wasn't bumped to RotK - it's always been there. TT ends with Sam over hearing the orcs say that Frodo is still alive and following them. The gates close on him before he can get through. Book 4 leaves Sam passed out.

There's a difference...
That was probably meant to be funny. Austin Powers wasn't exactly 'tasteful' (blech)

Well FOTR was rated PG13 anyway - at least in America. They can show butt shots in that rating - so he may or may not be naked. I don't think it's something that Elijah Wood would have been comfortable doing - and if it is in there - it may be a butt double, not even him.
They can't show frontal in a PG-13 and is very rarely shown in R rated movies (at least when it comes to men). This is all based on American standards of course. In Europe - anything goes.

Well, like it's been said before, the 'butt shot' may be considered too much because of the violence in the movie.
If there had been more violence, more graphic violence in Titanic it'd probably have been rated R. What an odd thread to become and Elf Lord on.

So a butt shot is more distrubing than the violence??? I'm not against the violence. But I do think that violence is worse than seeing a little nudity.
Anyway he'll probably be wearing a loin cloth. Something similar to the one Charleton Heston wore in Planet of the Apes.

No, no...it's not so much 'worse', but having both violence AND nudity would push the rating over the edge.
I agree, although I never have been negatively influenced by violence on T.V. (probably because my father's view on how to raise his kids. "Learn how to kill people, but don't use it unless they're trying to kill you..." kind of..)

As long as they have Sam's song, and maintain the PG-13 rating, I'm happy.

Okay, here's what I want:
Sam's Song As Sam said, nothing below the Equator PG-13 rating Emotional performance (Go Sean Astin...I love that guy) As for Arwen, why would she be ANYWHERE NEAR Cirith Ungol? ~Rosie~

Oh yeah, of course. No Arwen and a great emotional performance. Thanks, Rosie!

Remember, this Arwen thing started as a joke. She is definitely not going to be there. As for Frodo's clothes, he'll probalbly have a loincloth or something. (he'd better) Of course, this is just my optimistic opinion.

A "butt-double"????? ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
I can just imagine some girl taking her date home to meet the folks....."Mom, Dad, this is Scott. He's a butt-double. A hinder doppelganger. Mom? Dad? Are you guys okay?"

A moral of the whole (after the primary symbolism of the Ring, as the will to mere power, seeking to make itself objective by physical force and mechanism, and so also inevitably by lies) is the obvious one that without the high and noble the simple and vulgar is utterly mean; and without the simple and ordinary the noble and heroic is meaningless." I agree entirely, Rosie. And as for Arwen...she wasn't anywhere near the Ford in the books! *sigh* Oh well. I'm sure she won't show up in Cirith Ungol. And I shall be severely disappointed and very angry if they don't have Sam's song....

tano, why are you a cat?
a BUTT-DOUBLE!!!! teeheeheeheeheee anyway, in the not-very-good movie A Knight's Tale the minstrel dude was naked in his first scene and it had about 10 seconds with the lower left-hand corner filled with his butt, and that movie was only PG13.

His name was Chaucer (and he was a real person, but I don't think those events happened to him)...and yeah, but the violence in A Knight's Tale wasn't really as 'graphic' as LOTR's. Y'know, when they come out of Moria and are all covered in black stuff? Orc blood...yuuup.

true, but....oh, what's the use, i'm fighting a losing battle. sorry i forgot his name, i only saw the bloody movie once! sorry for getting annoyed, i'm in a pissy mood for no reason at all except that all my summer camp friends except Menelvagor are going to the same camp session as me and Menelvagor is the only one of my camp friends to post on Entmoot (Daughter of Elros would but she is having posting problems)...and that was the rambling of an insane HAMSTER (lol Menelvagor). that makes that statement fully true.
