The Bears play the Vikings tonight on what it sounds like will be a very icy field. The Vikings season has really gone bad - but as we keep on seeing, about anything can happen whenever any two NFL teams take the field this year. If the Bears can win it - I believe they wrap up the NFC North Division and guarantee themselves a playoff slot. That's something many here in Chi-town were not counting on when the season began.

Congrats. I must say Im rather suprised they have such a good record. They have talented pieces but they just never struck me as a great team. Now it comes down to who do they draw in the playoffs and do they stay at home.

I'm in Minneapolis visiting my bro for Xmas, and the place was packed with Bears and Vikings fans last night.

We'll see how it goes. If all goes well, maybe we'll get a rematch with the Patriots in the SuperBowl. After all... that would also make it a rematch of SuperBowl XX - for the 25th Anniversary of THAT game (featuring the '85 Bears Shufflin' Crew!).

I have to crack up at the fact the Seattle Seahawks and the St Louis Rams are playing for a division title with records of 6-9 and 7-8 respectively.

So what do we think? New England versus Atlanta in the superbowl? My preseason prediction (Green Bay and Indianapolis) is still alive though barely... But I like the way Indy is playing now (finally has a running game) so Ill go with them and New Orleans.

Clearly, Seattle and the Jets. How could you think otherwise?

A few weeks later and the Bears are still around! One of the last 4 teams standing. Now we play... The Packers!... for a spot in the SuperBowl, against either the Steelers or the Jets!
Fun for us in Chicago - which is a big football town. I told my son to relish getting to watch the Bears in the playoffs. There just are not any promises they'll be back on a regular basis.

They have looked good especially in that last game against the Titans. Still think Cutler is an ass though and the danger is they miss a few plays, lose a couple games the think they should have won and everyone turns on each other when you have a leader like that. Heres hoping it all works out well though.

Wow - I had forgotten that the Bears started 7-1 last year. No wonder we were all so bummed with their 10-6 finish, even though it was a winning record.
2-0 start this year. Barely wins, in both cases - especially yesterday, when we had 4 turn-overs on the Vikings, but still pulled it out. So we'll see how this one holds up. New coach, and more of an offense to show for it. Including a bona fide NFL offensive line, which has been the most glaring weakness. IR - in Cutler's defense, since coming to Chicago, he's been sacked like groceries! After a few years of that - I admire him for hanging on like he has. And it was apparent - even in preseason - that it's an adjustment for him to play behind a line that's actually blocking for him. He's been slow to trust, initially, but is doing so more and more. The one sack yesterday - where he lost the ball and the Vikes scooped it up for a TD - was the first time he was sacked since the first preseason game. EDIT: The past 3 years or so, it has routinely been about 4 sacks per game, sometimes 5 or 6 - and lots of real bell-ringer hits.

A SeahaWks win is certainly possible (I think the line is only 2 last I checked). Their defense is certainly formidable and their offense can score. But that Broncos offense is something else. And Im pulling for Peyton to get his second ring. He deserves it. I think he's the best QB of all time and that would solidify it.

Peyton had a chance to join the Seahawks and turned it down. I hope the best team wins (and firmly believe that the best team is the Seahawks )
