I'm an Elf and a tree person all the way! I climb in the biggest trees I can find as far as I can go. Oh, and as for Elves being deathless and thus not alive, they can be killed in battle you know. Elves do get drunk, it happens in The Hobbit.

Now that I know elves do indeed get drunk, what do they drink? Okay, I know about Miruvor, and they probably drink wine, too. I suppose beer is sort of a Men thing. (note: some people have theorized that beer was the cause of civilization. well, fermented wheat, at anyway.)

Most definately trees. Caves are okay, but there is NOTHING like climbing a good tree and reading a book. I did this BEFORE I read anything Tolkien, and even though I've been made fun of, I still love to do it.
I'm also strangely attracted to the sea, like someone above said. Perhaps I do have elvish blood in me

You read a book in a tree? Wasn't it uncomfortable?

I used to do that all the time when I was a bit younger!
It is kinda uncomfortable but you get used to it. plus a hammock is always fun to read in because you can look up at the tree and it's sooooo pretty! aaaaaahhhhhhhhhh. You know what? When it stops raining here I am going to find some trousers I don't want and go read! Hurrah for trees!!!!!!!!

I haven't tried reading books in trees. But when I was a kid I regularly climbed an acacia and slept there for about an hour 'til dinner after school.

Never slept in a tree, but maybe I'll try it.
Yeah, I have a willow tree in my backyard, and it's only a few years old. I'm really small, and the branches criss cross just right in a certain spot, so I fit pretty nicely. I like hammocks too, but we only have one tree in my backyard at my mother's. My father has a hammock, but I"m not there very often.

Yeah, reading books in trees is great fun, as well as just sitting there and thinking or looking around. Sadly, I haven't had any good trees for four years, except one belonging to my next door neighbour which I can't climb now I'm supposed to be "mature" and "responsible"

Strawberryicecream, your tree is obviosly made for you. I have a perfect trree in the back field of a pub. I used to sit in it and read too. Or even try to draw - that never worked particularlt well but nevermind.
And Nazgul Queen ; Never let being 'mature' or 'responsible' stop you climbing a tree, it's calling you....

I love to sleep in trees but caves stop the rain more wookey hole is cool because thers this cavern and you look down and you have to hold onto everything you carry because if you loose it you wont even see it land then you look up and you realise you are about in the middle of the cavern height wise and you almost fall over the side because you looked up too much it is truely awesome
trees are good for climbing and sleeping and burning but caves are best

Trees are the best without them we would all die wheras caves are dank, dark, cold and generally horrible things. They are also dwellings for evil things for example gollum, caves should be filled in and destroyed forever.

No! Don't destroy the poor caves!

Ummm...i generally think of forests as being cold and wet. Maybe comes of living around temperate RAINforests. Give me a nice dry cave or hobbit-hole and I'm happy.

Except me, Sen. I am the elfmaster and undefeatable. Gollum rocks! Don't be mean to him just because he has issues with that ring.
Trees rule. 'I'm always right so don't even bother to fight.'

Yes please lift! But this is not the thread to discuss the tuna on. EEEEEWWWWWEEEEEWWWWW!!!!
Tuna is mingin! I think i'll find people who agree. Anyway. Back to the trees thing. My mini bonsai has started to grow. I wanted to know if anyone here knows anything about them...i dont and dont want it to die on me. Heres an argument for the trees side, can you grow a mini cave? I think not...
