Elizabeth Goudge
Has anyone else on here read any of Elizabeth Goudge's books? If so, what are your favorites? She is my favorite author next to Tolkien. (She doesn't come anywhere near approaching Tolkien's greatness but I've never read any other author who does either. ) I wasn't sure whether to post this under general literature or fantasy--she's rather on the line in between. My favorite of her books is the Little White Horse which is more fantasy style. It has some spice of mystery and good story telling that reminds me a little of The Hobbit. I also especially like The Dean's Watch and Gentian Hill.

I just read The Little White Horse and I really enjoyed it. It's very much a children's book, but the descriptions are very vivid and I would have adored it when I was younger.
